Ok. Really. Homemade granola is so easy to make! And I can assure you that it tastes a million times better than store bought granola. Plus, if you make it yourself it doesn’t contain any refined sugars. It is true that it cost a bit more. It’s definitely not cheap as nuts and dried fruit in general are not that cheap. But once you have tasted homemade granola it’s difficult to resist and go back to store bought granola. You can practically add any type of nuts, seeds, dried fruit and spices you like. No restrictions whatsoever! How fun is that! So what are you waiting for? Get into the kitchen and prepare some.

It’s also the perfect as a present to give to friends and family. That’s what I did. If you decide to make it and give it away it might be fun to store it in little jars and give the jars a personal touch.

Dry ingredients:
100 g // 2/3 cup whole hazelnuts, coarsely chopped
100 g // 1 cup almonds, coarsely chopped
100 g // 1 cup rolled oats

4 tbsp liquid honey
3 tbsp water
1 tsp grounded cinnamon

Soft ingredients, add after baking:
25 g // 1 cup puffed barley (or spelt or rice)
1 handful Goji berries
3 handfuls raisins
100 g // 3/4 cup dried cranberries

Preheat the oven to 180ºC / 350ºF.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl combine all dry ingredients and place on the baking sheet. Drizzle with honey, water and cinnamon and place in the oven for 25 minutes. Stir around a couple of times to keep it from getting burnt.
Let the dry ingredients cool of before adding the soft ingredients.
Store in small glass jars and foresee the jars of a personal touch. Perfect as a present for friends and family! Or store the granola in a large glass jar if you make it for yourself.
Serve it with some yoghurt or milk. You can even add some fresh seasonal fruit.
