PREGNANCY – WEEK BY WEEK #36

And there we are…already at week 36! That means only 4 weeks left. Wow, I still remember the first 12 weeks. Seemed ages instead of only 12 weeks. And now it seems I have little time left to make sure everything is ready for our little miracle’s arrival.
Big news this week: we have a name!!!! Oh yes we do 😀 But it will be a surprise for all of you until his birth..sorry 😉
Also we had an ultrasound last week where we were able to see our little man. Whoop whoop!
He’s growing perfectly and was already a bit over 2,5 kg // 5,5 lbs during the ultrasound! Just what he should weigh!
But, stubborn as he is already, he’s still not with his head down. That means that he needs to turn over within these coming 4 weeks otherwise I will have a C-section. In the beginning of October I will have another check-up to see where his head is and otherwise a C-section will be planned a week before due date on October 16. We’ll see…
Best part of these past two weeks: of course the ultrasound…nothing beats seeing our baby boy!

How far along? 36 weeks
How many echoes until now? 9 (week 7, week 10, week 12,5, week 15,5, week 17,5, week 19,5, week 23,5, week 29,5, week 34,5)
Expected date of delivery? October 24 or October 16 if I will have a C-section.
Total weight gain? 7,5 kilo / 16,5 pounds
Gender? Boy
Name? YES, we finally have a name!
Belly button in/out? Happy to say it’s still in 🙂
Stretch marks? not one! Hope we’ll keep it that way…
Sleep? Sleeping is definitely more difficult. Waking up a lot during the night and only “comfortable” sleeping on my back.
Typical pregnancy symptoms? Harder to sleep, bad memory, need to slow down with pretty much everything.
Maternity clothes? of course!
Food cravings? No, no cravings.
How to keep fit? Swimming twice a week (last week a total of 132 laps, this week a total of 110 laps)
Baby’s room? Almost finished!
Baby’s gifts? During a wonderful ‘aperitivo’, my fellow train travelers gave me a coupon of my favorite shop so I can choose something for our baby boy. So sweet of them! And my parents gave a beautiful bouncer. Really happy with it!
Surprises during pregnancy? I have had an appointment to evaluate the donation of the umbilical cord (navel string) after birth. Unfortunately I’m not suitable due to the hypothyroidism I have. A bit sad about it, but at least I tried it. I truly hope all “mom-to-be”s will at least think about donating because it is so extremely important!!
