I’m on maturity leave!! Whoop whoop!! I’ve been looking forward to it so bad and now that it’s finally real it feels pretty strange not having to go to work tomorrow. But I’m sure I’m going to enjoy this time I have to the fullest preparing the arrival of our little miracle ♥! There’s so much I want to do that probably time will fly anyway. I’m so curious to meet our little boy I can barely wait. But first relax, keeping myself in shape, updating my blog and buying everything we still need. Lately has been pretty busy (being 7 months pregnant, working full time with hours of traveling was a bit tiring to be honest) that I have been neglecting my blog a bit. But now that I’m at home I’m definitely going to update it weekly!
Tomorrow my brother and his family are coming over and I decided to eat “out of the box”…we’re having PIZZA! Yeah!! I can’t wait. I can’t even remember when I had pizza for the last time. I guess it should be over a month ago and that’s ages for me… I’m already thinking about what toppings I’m going to choose. Obviously I’m also very much looking forward to have my brother and family over. Re-reading this, it almost seems I’m obsessed with the food…oops!
A week and a half ago we had another ultrasound so we got to see our precious miracle again. He’s moving and doing his exercises as ever even though there is less room left in my belly. It doesn’t seem to stop him ;). He’s grown perfectly and doing very well so we couldn’t be happier. Except for the fact he needs to change his position. He’s now lying with his head close to my bladder, his tiny bottom close to my belly button and his feet up high. Even though there is time, the gynecologist informed as already about a possible C-section. Well, we’ll see. As I said, there is still time, but if he’s as stubborn as his mom and dad…well, no comment 😉
Best part these past 2 weeks: The ultrasound, seeing my niece and nephew again (from my other brother) and being on maternity leave!
How far along? 31 weeks and 1 day
How many echoes until now? 8 (week 7, week 10, week 12,5, week 15,5, week 17,5, week 19,5, week 23,5, week 29,5)
Expected date of delivery? October 24
Total weight gain? 6 kilo / 13,2 pounds (no weight gain the last weeks! whoop whoop)
Name? Still no name…we really need to start think about it seriously!
Belly button in/out? In 😀
Stretch marks? still no stretch marks.
Sleep? Sleeping pretty good except it’s hard to change sides…
Typical pregnancy symptoms? Walking way slower than I was used to and definitely my memory! I keep forgetting things..
Maternity clothes? of course!
Food cravings? Nothing in particular.
How to keep fit? Walking (Still one more week and then I start swimming again 🙂 )
Baby’s room? The furniture is all set in the baby’s room and we bought the curtains. My mom needs to make them to measure now. She’s also makes the sheets for the bed so I’m getting pretty curious 😀
Baby’s gifts? A wonderful Dutch reading book from my brother and sister-in-law together with a cute baby bath cape, another adorable romper my parents gave, a very funny book “How to survive a baby” from a colleague and a cute baby scarf and mittens from another colleague.
Surprises during pregnancy? a good one…yes, I have gestational diabetes…BUT…both my diabetologist and gynecologist aren’t worried about it at all! I need to follow a sugar free diet and measure the glucose in my blood myself a few times a week but till now it’s going really well. The diabetologist even told me I can have pizza once every now and then!! Speaking about good surprises!!! 😀
